LA town officials propose tighter pandemic restrictions
Los Angeles Town Council President Nury Martinez and Councilman Mitch O’Farrell released a motion Wednesday that would demand qualified Angelenos to present evidence of at minimum just one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine to enter indoor spaces in the city, such as dining places, bars, fitness centers, and concert venues.
LOS ANGELES – “We have to set this behind us,” states Los Angeles City Council President Nury Martinez.
Martinez and Los Angeles Town Councilman Mitch O’Farrell reviewed the next phase in slowing the spread of the COVID-19 delta variant in our area. Their proposed alternative comes in a variety of a vaccine passport.
The proposed plan phone calls for Angelenos to clearly show proof that they’ve had at minimum a person dose of the coronavirus vaccine before entering the following establishments:
- Places to eat
- Bars
- Fitness centers
- Motion picture theaters

Martinez spelled out retail establishments include things like malls and clothes outlets. The City Council President acknowledges that office stores like Kohl’s, Nordstrom or Macy’s would be impacted by the proposed rule considering the fact that they depend as indoor spaces. She also said rideshares like Uber or Lyft could also be impacted thanks to the enclosed nature of the services.
